Dementia
Dementia is a syndrome characterized by impairments in multiple areas that include thinking, judgment, behavior, socialization and eventually overall functioning. The 3 most common types are Alzheimer disease, dementia with Lewy Bodies, and vascular dementia. Our neurologists are trained to diagnose and treat all dementia types. During your consultation, we’ll assess you, take a detailed history to look for secondary causes and discuss the best treatment options for you.
Age-related Memory Loss
There are some changes that come with age.
1. Performing occasional errors when balancing the check book.
2. Occasionally forgetting how to use appliances such as the microwave or remote control.
3. Occasionally forgetting names or appointments, but remembering them later.
4. Losing track of the day of the week, but figuring it out later.
5. Sometimes not finding the right word, but it's on "the tip of my tongue".
